In this tutorial, we will walk you through the "Community" feature and show you how to make the most of it.
Introduction To The "Community" Feature
To begin, open your admin panel, and then go to the "Community" feature. Once there, you will see that the Community feature is divided into four subsections: Categories, Threads, Comments, and Broadcast Messages.
Forum Categories
Admin Panel > Community > Categories
With Categories, you can create a variety of forum categories to assist you in classifying the community on your platform so that your users can interact with one another seamlessly.
Add A New Forum Category
To add a new category, press the "Add Category" button in the top right corner, and then fill in all the required information.
Once you fill in the category name and description, you will have the option to assign the new category to a specific membership or course. If you assign it to a specific membership, only members of that specific membership will be able to access it.
The last step of creating a new forum category is to press the "Save" button.
Edit/Delete A Forum Category
Afterward, if there is a need to, you can modify the previously created categories by clicking on the "Detail" button,
and you can delete them by just pressing "Delete."
Filter Forum Categories
If you have many categories and find it hard to navigate them, you can simply filter them using the "Filter" function.
Forum Threads
Admin Panel > Community > Threads
Moving on to the second category of the Community feature, you have the option of creating different Forum Threads. Forum Threads are specific communication channels that help you to categorize and dissect your community into smaller chat rooms where your users can interact with one another, form valuable connections, and discuss various topics related to your content.
Create A New Forum Thread
To create a new forum thread, simply press the "Add Thread" button in the top right corner, fill in the thread name, and select a category that this thread will be a part of. Once you’re done, press the "Save" button to activate it for your users.
Edit/Delete/Filter Forum Threads
Similarly, to Forum Categories, you can edit existing forum threads by clicking the little pencil icon saying "Detail,"
delete them by clicking the "Delete" button
or you can filter them using the "Filter" function in the top right corner.
Comments
Admin Panel > Community > Comments
Moving on, the third category of the Community feature is the "Comments" section. Here you will see all the latest comments from all of your community members.
If there is a need to, you can delete comments that are breaking community guidelines by simply clicking the "Delete" button.
Moreover, if you want to filter your comments, you can use the "Filter" function in the top right corner. You can filter them by the date they were created, by a specific member, or by a thread name.
Broadcast Messages
Admin Panel > Community > Broadcast Messages
Last but not least, we have the Broadcast Message feature. This feature allows you to broadcast custom messages to your users. Compared to some other messaging and mailing apps, with Forlogis LMS you are guaranteed that all of your users will receive your message. Additionally, you also have the option to see how many users opened the message and how many clicked the link that you included, which enables you to test different messaging approaches and perfect your message.
Our broadcast message feature also allows you to set how long you want your users to see the message. The metric that tracks this is called "Days To Show."
Edit Broadcast Messages
If you’ve accidentally made a spelling mistake in a recently broadcast message, there is no need to delete it. You can press the little pencil icon saying "Detail," access the Broadcast Message details, correct the error, press "Submit," and your message will be updated.
Delete Broadcast Messages
To delete a broadcast message, simply click the "Delete" button and it will be removed.
Broadcast A New Message
To broadcast a new message, first press the "New Broadcast" button in the top right corner.
Afterward, add a message that you want to share with your users, and optionally add a button if you want to redirect your users to another page. Broadcast Messages could be used, for example, to invite your users to weekly live coaching sessions, or they could invite them to have a look at the latest content you’ve published on your social media accounts.
Next, you have the option to include a video in your broadcast to make it even more personalized. You can choose between using a Wistia video or using the embed code feature to embed a video from a different video hosting platform.
Last, you can then specify which users will receive the message. You can choose that only members of a specific membership or owners of a specific course will receive this message. This will help you to niche down your target audience and ensure that only the people who were meant to receive the message actually received it.
Once you’ve filled in all the required fields, press the "Submit" button and your new message will be broadcast to your selected user groups.
