Forlogis LMS enables you to create an unlimited number of course modules and lessons based on your content, which can be video, audio, PDFs, images, or presentations.

Learning Objective

In this tutorial, we will walk you through a five-step process for creating a new course.

Create A Course

To begin, navigate to the “Courses” tab in the admin panel, then go to the top right corner, and click “Add Course." Once you’re there, you will be guided through a five-step process for adding a course.

Step 1 - Add Details

First, you must name your course. Once you have the name, you can choose the course category of which this course will be a part. If you leave the category on “Uncategorized Courses," that means the course will not be a part of any category. Next, simply add your product thumbnail, which will be the image that your members see on the platform. Afterward, add a product banner, which is a banner that members will see once they enter your course. Once you’re done adding your details, click the “Continue” button.

Step 2 - Add Description

The second step is adding your descriptions. On Forlogis LMS, you can give your users two descriptions. The first description is for paying users who have already access to the course. If you have a walk-through video that explains the course content to all members, you can simply import it here from Wistia. You can also use any embed code and paste it right here. You are not required to include a video in your description; it is just an optional feature that can help you build a deeper connection with your users.

The second description is for free users who haven’t yet purchased the course yet. Here you can convey the value that the people will receive from the course and thus motivate them to take action and purchase it for themselves.

Step 3 - Set Up The Pricing

The next step is to put a price on the course. If you’re not selling it, you can simply leave the price at zero. You also have the option to make the course available for purchase immediately from the dashboard, just by ticking the box. That means that when your users log in to the platform, they will see two tabs - “My Courses” and “Upgrades." In My Courses, they will see all the courses that they currently have, and in Upgrades, they will see all the courses that are available for them to purchase.

In a similar fashion, you can also include membership pricing. Membership pricing reduces the price of the course for users that are part of that particular membership as a form of congratulation for being a part of it. For example, just because they’re part of a particular membership, they will pay $20 for a course that normally costs $70.

Step 4 - Create Your First Module

The fourth step is simply to create the first module. At this point, you don’t need to add just one, you can add as many modules as you want.

You can also add a module image if you want to use “Grid Layout” for the course, which means that all of the modules will have a module thumbnail image visible. If you don't have the “Grid Layout” turned on, you don't have to add your module image.

Modules can also have a description, which enables you to better explain what will your users learn in them. This setting is optional.

If you’re not ready to publish your module to your users yet, you can simply toggle “Disable Module." This enables you to work on a module behind the scenes and publish it to your users once it’s really ready to deliver astonishing value.

Step 5 - Add Your First lesson.

Once you’re done creating your first module, then simply add your first lesson. At this point, all you have to do is submit your first lesson; you don't have to submit all of them. You can always come back to this later.

To create a lesson - first, fill in the details. Afterward, you have the option to add a video resource. Forlogis LMS allows you to create a variety of lessons, including those that include video, audio, or only PDF resources. To embed a video, simply copy the embed code from a video hosting platform and paste it right into the “Embed Code” section. If you’re embedding a video, it is important to fill in the length in seconds, so that your users can see how long are the videos.

At this point, you can also assign this lesson to a specific module. If no modules are enabled in your course, you will see no modules in that section.

Next, you can also set up the weekly plan. “Days To Show” means how many days after joining will your users have access to this specific lesson. “Day To Show” means at what specific calendar day will your users have access to this lesson.

Afterward, there is also an option to set up the gamification. This will be discussed in a different tutorial.

The last step is to include a lesson description. This step is also optional, however, it’s strongly recommended since adding a good description can greatly increase the video completion rates.

Once you’re satisfied with your first lesson, simply press “Submit Lesson” and you will have successfully created your very first course.
